Detailed 7 Days Akagera Safari Rwanda Golden Monkey Tour

Day 1: Arrival at the Kigali International Airport

On arrival at Kigali International Airport, our Dedicated team of Hermosa Life Tours and Travel will be at the Kigali International Airport for the meet and greet assistance, and clear with customs. Transfer to the Kigali hotel. Enjoy hotel amenities, dinner and overnight.

Day 2 of 7 Days Akagera Safari Rwanda Golden Monkey Tour: Transfer to Akagera National Park

After having your breakfast at the hotel, check out and embark on a drive to transfer to Akagera National Park Home of Big 5- Game Drive. On the way enjoy Landscapes and the hills of Rwanda, en route game drive and views as you Drive to the lodge, check in with lunch at the lodge. Expect to see some animals such as elephants, Giraffes, and lions, arrive at the lodge, have meals and relax. Afternoon at leisure plus enjoying lodge amenities. Evening embarks on the Night game drive where you are rewarded with several wildlife in a calm nature. This evening you have a chance to see nocturnal wildlife species that are not easy to see during that time. Retire and drive back to the lodge.

Day 3: Game Drives and Boat Cruise, transfer back to Kigali

Akagera is also known as one of the most scenic savannahs in East Africa. After your breakfast, have your packed lunch boxes. You will visit the Giraffe area in the south and the Lakes road up towards Birengero. Akagera National Park is home to elephants, Lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebra antelope and many more. Have a stopover for a packed lunch at the picnic area. Continue with a boat cruise where you are rewarded with several hippos and bird species on Lake Ihema.
Proceed with a drive back to Kigali, and enjoy cool sunset photography and the landscapes in the area. Arrival at the hotel with relaxation, dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 4 of 7 Days Akagera Safari Rwanda Golden Monkey Tour: Kigali city tour and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After your breakfast at the hotel, embark on a Kigali city tour; go for a visit to the Genocide memorial centre, local markets in Kimironko, Nyamirambo tour, see the daily activities of the local Rwandan people with smiles on their faces, Drive to a nice restaurant of your choice in Kigali town for your lunch, then continue to drive to Musanze side the home of Mountain Gorillas, Golden monkeys and hikes, on your way going you will be having time to discover, view Rwandan Landscapes. Arrival at the lodge with check-in. You will relax and enjoy property amenities, and evenings at leisure. Later dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 5: Undertake the Golden Monkey trek and cultural experience with the Gorilla Guardian Village

After breakfast, you will proceed to the park headquarters to meet your guides for Golden Monkeys trekking, enjoy their play plus do their daily activities, after completing your experiences. Return to your hotel for lunch and an afternoon Cultural experience at the Gorilla Guardians’ former Iby’iwacu culture village centre then dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 6 of 7 Days Akagera Safari Rwanda Golden Monkey Tour: Bisoke Hike and transfer to Lake Kivu

On this day in the morning after breakfast, you will go to RDB Headquarters for the briefing with a cup of Coffee or tea, you will join a group of tourists heading to the hike on the top of the Volcano where there is a crater lake. It takes 4 hours to ascend and 2 hours to descend. You will come back to the Hotel, have a meal, check out, and proceed with a transfer to Lake Kivu. Arrive at the hotel with full relaxation at the beach shores the whole afternoon.

Day 7: Lake Kivu boat cruise, transfer back to Kigali and departure

Wake up to your breakfast, and enjoy it with the Lake Views. Then embark on the boat cruise on Lake Kivu to discover its different beautiful islands. Have a fantastic view of the country. During the boat cruise, you can visit the local fruit bat population, and a variety of bird species including pelicans, crowned cranes and malachite kingfishers. Depending on how busy the day is, this boat cruise lasts an average of 2 hours. Return to the hotel for meals, check out and transfer back to Kigali. Do a quick souvenir shopping and depart on an evening transfer.
