Detailed 4 Days Bwindi Gorilla Safari in Uganda

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by either your driver-guide or any other representative of the company who will transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. This is on the assumption that you will arrive at the airport very early in the morning so that once your driver-guide picks you up, you will proceed to Bwindi. If you are arriving late in the night, or extremely early in the morning, then you will have to check in into a guest house for a night or early morning rest prior to your journey to Bwindi. The accommodation in Entebbe can be arranged at your request.

Day 2 0f 4 Days Bwindi Gorilla Safari in Uganda: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Wake early for a hearty breakfast to give you the energy needed for gorilla trekking. Before 8:00 am, report to the ranger station for registration and a talk by one of the rangers.

The guides will then take you through the bush, pushing your way through the undergrowth, to track the gorillas. (Please note this trek can take from 30 minutes to 5-6 hours). A reasonable degree of fitness is required, as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes.

Sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them ‘talk’ to one another, and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male, the Silverback.

It is an extraordinary feeling sitting in the dense rain forest knowing you are with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas. It’s amazing to think there are only about 650 of these beautiful creatures left.

Day 3: Relax and enjoy the scenery and beauty of Lake Bunyonyi

Lake Bunyonyi is also a very perfect place to relax.

You can also choose to do some canoeing in a dugout canoe, swim, Island hop, boating, hiking, birding, village visits, nature walks as well as interactive cultural visits as you stay along Lake Bunyonyi.

This lake has got scenery that will stay with you on all of its 29 islands.
