Detailed 13 Days Uganda Rwanda Wildlife Safari Tour
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
On the arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to Kampala, Imperial Royale (C) or similar.
Day 2 of 13 Days Uganda Rwanda Wildlife Safari Tour: Transfer from Kampala to the marvelous Murchison Falls on the Nile
Early morning, leave Kampala driving Northwest through the famous Luwero Triangle. If you start early morning, it is possible to visit the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to see rhinos in the wild. Lunch in Masindi Hotel. Proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest protected area in Uganda, with 3.840 Kms, named after the falls on the Victoria Nile, which divides the park into two sectors. Relax a bit at a situated site on the top of the spectacular falls, where you can see the Nile’s perfected beauty and marvel as it compresses and squeezes itself from over 1 kilometer wide down through a seven-meter canyon. The 43-meter drop of the falls creates a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in a plume of spray – the best of the Nile River Dinner and overnight at Pakuba game lodge. FB
Day 3: The boat cruise on the River Nile
Your day starts with an early morning game drive, transverse the Northern part of the park for a game drive to view and take photographs of elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, hippos, giraffes, Uganda kobs, lions, if you are lucky the leopards, plus a variety of bird species. After lunch, proceed for a two-hour cruise to the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls. This is an opportunity to see the amazing hippos, crocodiles along the riverbanks. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Pakuba game lodge. FB
Day 4 of 13 Days Uganda Rwanda Wildlife Safari Tour: Fort Portal on the shadow of the Mountains of the Moon
Early morning transfer from Murchison Falls driving Southwest via the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift Valley. Drive through Hoima and reach the colorful and beautiful town of Fort Portal, the capital of the Tooro kingdom, situated in the shadow of the fabled “Mountains of the Moon,” the Rwenzori. Mountains of the moon or Fortmotel or Ataco country resort.
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park, the Pearl of Uganda
Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park after breakfast. Have a game drive en –route to the lodge. After lunch, enjoy the two hours launch trip on Kazinga Channel for amazing birdlife and a variety of wildlife. An evening drive to the crater lakes region is rewarding. Dinner & overnight at Mweya safari lodge or Ihamba lodge. FB
Day 6 of 13 Days Uganda Rwanda Wildlife Safari Tour: The habituated chimpanzees of Kyambura Gorge
Take an early morning cup of coffee before setting off for a game drive along Kasenyi track and Queen’s mile in the park and expect to see lions, elephants, buffalos, warthogs and lots of animals and birds. Get back to the lodge for breakfast. After lunch, drive to Kyambura gorge for a forest walk to look for the habituated chimpanzees and other primates. This gorge is 16 km long on the Rift Valley and 100 meters deep. The rangers will provide you with a walking stick for this spectacular trekking. Dinner & overnight at Mweya safari lodge or Ihamba lodge. FB
Day 7: The tree climbing lions in Ishasha
Early breakfast and drive to the Ishasha sector of the park for a game drive in search of the tree-climbing lions. Today you will have packed lunch. After the game drive proceed to Bwindi for dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs or Silverback lodge Bwindi. FB
Day 8 of 13 Days Uganda Rwanda Wildlife Safari Tour: The magic encounter with the mountains gorillas
After an early breakfast and briefing from the guides, set off for the mountains gorilla tracking inside the Bwindi forest. You need to carry drinking water, rain jacket, and jungle boots while the rangers will provide you with a walking stick. Gorilla tracking is one of the unique activities you will enjoy while photographing and observing the gorillas. After tracking, come back to the Homestead for lunch before making a scenic journey to Kabale through the beautiful terrain of the rolling hills with terraced landscape. An area referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa”, with its incredible view of Lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and overnight at Birdnest or Bunyonyi overland Camp or Heritage.
Day 9: The fabulous scenery of Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast, have a two-hour boat ride inside Lake Bunyonyi to various islands inside the lake for bird viewing, sightseeing and discovering the sites of the Bakiga culture. Transfer to Rwanda in Musanze, dinner and overnight.
Day 10 of 13 Days Uganda Rwanda Wildlife Safari Tour: Volcanoes National Park
There are many activities to be enjoyed in this area apart from Gorillas Trekking in the Volcanoes National Park. This area is home to numerous cafes, a number of Cultural and Community Tourism initiates as well as being an excellent location for bird watching. After the day’s activities, you transfer to Gisenyi checking in at Serena Kivu.
Day 11: Scenic view and Transfer to Cyangugu
Gisenyi is a pretty town located on the shores of Lake Kivu, the main water body of Rwanda. You descend the escarpment down to the lake, with fantastic views of the Volcanoes. You will be transferred to Nyungwe with dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top View Hotel FB
Day 12 of 13 Days Uganda Rwanda Wildlife Safari Tour: Primates/ Chimp tracking in Nyungwe Forest
Today you enter Nyungwe forest for the trekking in search of the numerous troops of Angolan Colobus monkeys and/or tracking the chimpanzees. Nyungwe is a vast, uncontaminated mountain rain tropical forest over 1000 sq km in size and you will be amazed by such intense, green mountain vegetation. It is home to 13 species of primates, over 275 species of birds, 100 varieties of orchids. Ensure you carry with you packed lunch and water. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top View Hotel FB
Day 13: Kigali – departure
Drive to Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda.
