Detailed 8 Days Rwanda Gorilla, Primates & Golden Monkey trekking safari

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to the Hotel

Upon arrival, you will be picked up from the airport by our driver guide for meet and greet services and transfer to the hotel. Depending on your arrival you will start with exchanging the currency or buying a local Sim, and enjoy your property amenities with a Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 2 of 8 Days Rwanda Gorilla, Primates & Golden Monkey trekking safari: Kigali City Tour with a Transfer to Musanze

After your breakfast, you will start your tour with Kigali City Tour and visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial after lunch you will be transferred to Musanze, the home of mountain Gorillas. The journey north passes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that characterize much of Rwanda’s landscape and gradually climbs to the base of the Virunga Volcanoes enjoy your afternoon cultural activities at Gorilla Guardians, the former Ibyiwacu Cultural Village.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Experiences

On this special day, you will have the rare opportunity to observe the famous Rwandan mountain gorillas. Tracking the gorillas through the forested slopes of the Virunga is a magical experience. You will get to the gorillas, spend an hour with them, and be back at the base in time for lunch, upon arrival at the Lodge for Lunch enjoy Lunch at the Hotel or in a local restaurant in Musanze City later in the afternoon You will enjoy Community walk experiences and Banana Beer making experiences. Enjoy your property amenities.

Day 4 of 8 Days Rwanda Gorilla, Primates & Golden Monkey trekking safari: Golden Monkey Trekking & Kivu Lake

On this day you will depart for Golden Monkeys Trekking to observe the famous Rwandan mountain in the Volcanoes National Park. Enjoy Lunch in the local restaurant before you depart from the foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes and drive to the shore of Lake Kivu in Karongi.

Day 5: Lake Kivu and Canopy walk adventure

After Breakfast, you will start your morning boat Cruise exploring different Islands located in the lake, on this day you will drive to Nyungwe National Park at an altitude of 1600-2950m above sea level, this mountainous rainforest reserve is rich in flora and fauna, with over 260 species of trees and shrubs, and over 100 types of orchid and giant lobelia alone. As well as incredible biodiversity, the park also has breathtaking views, at your arrival lunch with an afternoon Canopy walk adventure, during your hike you may also spot migratory birdlife including the Ross’ turaco, grey-cheeked hornbill, red-breasted sparrow hawk and regal sunbird. After lunch, spend the afternoon relaxing at the Lodge.

Day 6 of 8 Days Rwanda Gorilla, Primates & Golden Monkey trekking safari: Chimpanzee Trekking and Tea Experiences

On this day you will enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge before embarking on a thrilling hike in search of chimpanzee communities. The Rwandan chimpanzee population is thought to consist of approx. 400-500 individuals, confined to the Nyungwe National Park, including a small community in the Cyamudongo Foret.

Prepare to hear these excitable primates before you see them, as their pant-hoots travel through the deep forest. After this experience, you will have your afternoon tea plantation experiences with the local community in Gisakura. Relax at your Property and enjoy your Lodge amenities.

Day 7: Colobus Monkey Trekking and Museum Tour

On this day you will enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge before embarking on a thrilling hike in search of Colobus Monkeys communities. During your hike, you may also spot migratory bird life including the Ross’ turaco, grey-cheeked hornbill, red-breasted sparrow hawk and regal sunbird. After lunch, spend the afternoon transfer to Kigali City On your way you will also experience Rwandan culture at the former Mwami Palace (King’s Palace) in Nyanza, transfer to Kigali.

Day 8 of 8 Days Rwanda Gorilla, Primates & Golden Monkey trekking safari: Transfer to the airport

On your last day in Rwanda, you will be picked up by your professional guide Driver, and go Shopping, at the local market with a transfer to the airport.
